Player Notes in the Draft & Playoffs (Apr 6)

A quick hit this afternoon, as the Columbus Blue Jackets are unsure whether or not defenseman Fedor Tyutin will dress for them tonight, as he is a game-time decision with an undisclosed injury.  If he does indeed miss some time, he'll be on the list as out day-to-day.

Not the best way to open up the week for Benson, who opens up Monday night in 5th place, 6 points back of 4th, 11 points back of 3rd and only 1 point up on 6th.  Tyutin may not have guaranteed any points, but you never know when these defensemen pick up an apple or two.

From questionable to doubtful, the San Jose Sharks are not expecting to have forward Tomas Hertl in the lineup tonight, as he is feeling under the weather.  The Sharks are hosting the Dallas Stars, as both teams are on the cusp of being eliminated from playoff contention tonight.

Stacey M. is 10 points back of Benson, so her team's chances of lifting up into 3rd place were in jeopardy before this bit of news.  It's pretty safe to say that Hertl didn't quite live up to the hype he made for himself last season, picking up 31 points in 79 games, thus far.

The Washington Capitals solidified their playoff position over the weekend, qualifying for the Spring Dance and should be in consideration for a round or two of hockey, starting next week.  Eric Fehr will represent the Capitals in Box 19 of the selection sheet and he was held out of Sunday's game with an upper-body injury.  He is currently on the list as out day-to-day, but as we move closer to the playoffs, I hope that we'll see some more details or a timeline come out about his condition.

The last week of the season, I'm hoping to have goalie starts for the whole week, but I just never know how the day is going to pan out.

Wes (3rd place) won't have any help tonight, nor will Clayton (4th, 5 points back), Benson (5th, 11 points back) or Scott (6th, 12 points back).  So, no goalies tonight there.  Benson does have a shot at an appearance, as Dallas is playing, but they are opting for Jhonas Enroth instead of Kari Lehtonen tonight.

If Wyllie's team is thinking about climbing out of the Olli spot, Allan won't have a goalie start either tonight, so there won't be any advantage there.  Saying that, neither will Ryan... I'm beginning to wonder if there are any pool goalies going tonight.

10 goalies are going in five games tonight and seven of those goalies will register points for the pool tonight.  I can see why our scoring has gone down a whole bunch of late.
