Avs' Barrie Suspended

Although this is already the third suspension of this 2016 season, see Raffi Torres and Nikita Nesterov, the 3-game suspension handed down to Colorado's Tyson Barrie is the first suspension that was relevant to the hockey pool.

As you can see in the video below, Barrie was guilty of doing a little bit of head hunting against the Anaheim Ducks earlier in the week and this suspension does seem rather justified.

His suspension starts on Sunday, when the Avalanche take on the Kings in Los Angeles and will also miss Wednesday's contest, home to Carolina and Saturday's game, home to Columbus.

So far in the 2016 season, Barrie has appeared in four games with the Avalanche, picking up a pair of assists.  He was taken in the pool by Mike, who gambled on a lot of injuries to start the season, but wasn't counting on a suspension from one of his guys this year.

His team goes into Sunday's action in 26th place, with 26 points, already 23 points back of 1st place.
