Goalie Announcements (Oct 18)

With the early game just around the corner here this morning, it's worth noting that Derek & Dan have another kick at the can to try and stay in the goalie survivor pool, as the New York Rangers are hosting the New Jersey Devils to kick off Sunday in Week Two.  Henrik Lundqvist is the confirmed starter for the game, taking on Cory Schneider (Troy) and that means they have a decent chance of helping King Henrik along here.

It does look like we will have one elimination this week, as Tony likely won't get any help, as Devan Dubnyk (Derek W.) will get the start for the Minnesota Wild against Frederik Andersen (Benson) and the Ducks, leaving Tony's goalie, Darcy Kuemper, on the bench and away from any minutes.  Of course, there is a remote chance that a miracle can happen, but I wouldn't advise Tony to hold his breath there.

Speaking of Andersen, Benson's team is the leading contender for the Basement Dweller this week, so he could really use a win from the Ducks' number one guy, it would lift him (possibly only temporarily) over a couple of teams and put a few more spots between his team and the bottom of the standings.
