Goalie Announcements (Oct 20)

Kicking off the week in the crease was Antti Raanta's shutout win for the New York Rangers on Monday, keeping Scott from hitting the board in Week Three's section of the survivor pool.  Benson was pretty happy, as he picked up 4 points for the result and he jumped a few places in the standings.

Seven games on tap for Tuesday night and we've got plenty of goalie survivor pool news for you this afternoon.

The first announced all-survivor pool match-up of the night went to the Blues and Canadiens game, as Jake Allen (Scott) takes on Carey Price (John S.) in a top drawer match.  Allen gives Scott another shot at a win, while taking on the top player in the pool, to date.

Only one other all-survivor pool match-up, this one coming in Nashville, as the Predators play host to the Lightning.  Ben Bishop (Allan) will be taking on Pekka Rinne (Ryan) in a battle of top 10 picks in the draft.

One team gets a couple shots at advancing on Tuesday night, as Dale B. has both of his goalies going, Jaroslav Halak for the Islanders against the Blue Jackets, while Mike Smith goes for Arizona in New Jersey.

Roberto Luongo (Kristy & Don) will go against the Penguins, Steve Mason (Derek W.) will start against the Stars, and finally, Braden Holtby (Jeremy) goes for the Caps against the Flames.

Only two pool teams are left without wins in the early part of this season, as we continue to watch Cindy and Wes wait for their opportunity to shine in the standings.  Cindy is the only one of the two with an active goalie, Jonathan Bernier of the Leafs.  They don't go on Tuesday night, but even when they do go, it will be curious to see if Bernier still has the number one spot.
