Knee Surgery Sidelines Keith

Well, if things were not already mildly difficult for the 3-3-0 Chicago Blackhawks, being cap-challenged and all, trying to find their way with a revamped roster; they will now have to try and work around being without one of their top two defensemen in Duncan Keith.

The team announced that the 32-year old rearguard will miss between 4-to-6 weeks after undergoing successful knee surgery on Tuesday, repairing a torn meniscus.

In six games this season, Keith has only been able to register 2 assists, which only has him ranked 262nd in pool scoring, heading into Tuesday night's action.

Stacey C. used his 5th round pick, 123rd overall, to select Keith in the draft, but even before this injury, his team had already started to suffer, sitting closer to the bottom in 25th spot after Monday night.  This is a fairly significant injury, as the Blackhawks as a whole will suffer, but Stacey's team is down a fairly important pick, as well as his number one goalie in Robin Lehner out of Buffalo.
