Goalie Announcements (Nov 2)

A new week, a new chance to fail... or succeed. Whichever.

We're down to 10 teams in the goalie survivor pool and we've seen eliminations in every week so far, so that's a good sign, we might be done this competition before too long.  Not that it's keeping me up at nights anymore, I'm not in it.  Ha ha.

Only three games going in the NHL on Monday night, six starting goalies and we do have three possible pool goalies going tonight, all slated to get a start, one in each game.

In the opening game of the night, the Dallas Stars are in Toronto to take on the Maple Leafs and Antti Niemi will get his fourth straight start for the visitors, giving Stacey M. a shot at continuing on early in the week.  Niemi will take on the recently eliminated James Reimer, who belongs to John S., tonight and you would think that Dallas will carry an exceptional advantage tonight.

The middle game of the night will feature the Los Angeles Kings visiting the Chicago Blackhawks and Corey Crawford will be the goalie of note in this one, as Stuart will look for a win against a very strong Kings team at the moment.  This will be a bit tougher, as Jonathan Quick will be at the other end, representing the eliminated duo, Brenda & Seward.

Finally, in the late game, the Philadelphia Flyers start a Western road swing in Vancouver, taking on the Canucks.  Steve Mason, believe it or not, is the goalie we're watching here, as Derek W. is still kicking in the pool, while Ryan Miller, at the opposite end, let Clayton down a couple weeks ago.

Let the games begin!
