Morning Player Notes in the Draft (Nov 4)

Let's lead with what we know first thing this morning... New York defenseman Dan Boyle was a healthy scratch on Tuesday night. We don't have to wait on any news on this one, as the 39-year old rearguard has been a healthy scratch already this season for the Rangers, so with some bodies coming back into the lineup, Boyle has found himself in the press box yet again.

In 10 games played this season, Boyle has 2 assists and 6 PIM for Scott's team in the pool, as he hasn't quite worked out at the capacity, which would have made him into a good pick in the pool.  Boyle was Scott's last pick in the draft, so it was a reasonable gamble to make and one that could be looked at during the Waiver Draft.

Anze Kopitar was forced from Los Angeles' 3-0 win over St. Louis on Tuesday night, due to an elbow/butt end from Blues forward Ryan Reaves, leaving with an upper-body injury.  As of Wednesday morning, there still wasn't a definitive injury explanation, but one would think that the update will be coming soon.  What did drop in the morning was news that Reaves was fined for the play, so the league thought it was a dirty enough play for supplemental discipline.

Stacey C., our current weekly leader in the scoring department, has potentially lost another forward, as his injury troubles seem to be continuing this season.  Stacey has moved up to 15th place this week, despite already having three players on the shelf with long-term injuries.
