Palat to Miss Significant Time

The news from the Tampa Bay Lightning was feared to be pretty bad, given the circumstances surrounding forward Ondrej Palat and indeed, the revelations were pretty bad.  The prognosis on Palat is that he is now scheduled to miss anywhere between 3-to-5 weeks with his lower-body injury, according to the team.

Palat hasn't quite been the dynamo that he was in the time leading up to and including the playoffs, where the triplets were a new dynamic, hardly studied and they ran rampant on the league.  So far in the 2016 season, Palat only has 7 points in 16 games, including 2 goals.  That ranks him 187th overall in pool scoring, which is now to drop significantly with the time missed.

In the pool, Tony picked him with the 119th overall pick in the 5th round, so he was not getting value for his pick, at all.  187th overall would mean that he would have been taken in the 7th round, which isn't all bad, being two rounds down, but certainly not great.  I'm sure Tony was thinking that he got a bargain with this pick and by all accounts last season, he really should have been.

Things haven't been too rosy in the pool for Tony, as he goes into Week Six down in 23rd spot and is 33 points out of the money, losing out on a scoring forward until the Waiver Draft or thereabouts.  At this point, he would be in line for a decent pick in the Waiver Draft, if that provides any solace to him.
