Afternoon Player Notes in the Draft (Dec 11)

A brand new injury has befallen Kris Letang and at the very least, it will keep him out of tonight's game between the Penguins and the Kings.  Letang is now day-to-day with an upper-body injury and the team will likely be re-evaluating him over the weekend, hopefully providing everyone with an update before too long.

The injury bug is biting Jeremy heading into the weekend, as his team continues to sit in 4th after finishing there on Sunday.  His team is currently keeping pace with Dale B., who has the tie-breaker on him for 3rd place, but this injury news won't help him out at all.

More bad news for Logan Couture, as the lower-body injury turned out to be a serious trauma in his leg, as the team doctors found some arterial bleeding, which required surgery.  Couture underwent a successful procedure on Thursday night, but the team was not able to provide a timetable for his return.

And Jeremy's clever move to take a flyer on Couture may have been a trap.  Jeremy has seen some return on his 1st round Waiver Draft pick, but if he is going to be out of the Sharks' lineup for an extended period of time, the return will lose its value before too long.

The Arizona Coyotes recalled goalie Louis Domingue on Thursday, as he will be up to back-up Anders Lindback tonight against the Minnesota Wild, as Mike Smith is currently day-to-day with a lower-body injury.  It doesn't sound like anything major to worry about, maybe it's just code for being a night off, but without any real confirmation, I'll just continue to speculate.

You could argue that this could be a missed start for Dale B. tonight, since the Coyotes are not on the second half of back-to-backs.  This at least gives Jeremy a little bit of reprieve, as Dale won't have a full compliment of players going tonight.
