Goalie Announcements (Dec 12)

You would have thought with Michal Neuvirth (Neil) playing the night before for the Flyers, that Steve Mason (Derek W.) would have got the start on Friday night against the Dallas Stars, but that wasn't the case.  So, with the Flyers now done for the weekend and Minnesota not bringing Devan Dubnyk on their current road trip, that all but eliminates Derek from the survivor pool.

And then there were five.

Well, the 11am game has already dropped the puck this morning and it is Tuukka Rask (Dale C.) against Roberto Luongo (Kristy & Don) at the TD Garden in Boston, as the Bruins and Panthers skate in a matinee.

All the other games today are starting after 5pm MT, so we'll quickly go over the goalies that we know thus far.

In Buffalo, we'll see Jhonas Enroth (Brian) and the Kings take on Linus Ullmark (Stacey C.) and the Sabres tonight, in a very unique goaltending match-up, one we've definitely never seen before.

In Montreal, it will be Craig Anderson (John P.) visiting Dustin Tokarski (Dropped) and the Canadiens tonight, as Tokarski makes back-to-back starts for the Habs for the first time this season.

A couple of goalies already qualified for Week Eleven go head-to-head in Tampa Bay, as Braden Holtby (Jeremy) and Ben Bishop (Allan) are your confirmed starters for the Capitals and Lightning.  Of course, that game would be much more fun, if there was a spot in Week Eleven on the line, but they'll just have to settle for the points right now.

Curtis McElhinney (non-pool) will get another start for the pool goalie-less Blue Jackets, as he welcomes Jaroslav Halak (Dale B.) and the Islanders into their building for a confrontation.

Although unconfirmed this morning, it is expected that Dale C. will have his other goalie going tonight, as Kari Lehtonen should be the starter for the Stars, as they visit St. Louis and Jake Allen (Scott) will be their opposition keeper at the other end.

Kristy & Don will have their second goalie on the ice as well, as it is confirmed that Semyon Varlamov will get the call for the Avalanche, as they are expecting to see Pekka Rinne (Ryan) and the Predators in Nashville tonight.

There are a few games left, with unconfirmed keepers, as they are the later games.  It could be Cam Ward (Troy) against Anders Lindback (non-pool) in the desert tonight, while Antti Raanta (Benson) could get another start against Jonas Hiller (Grant) in Calgary and it should be Darcy Kuemper (Dropped) taking on Martin Jones (Scott) in the Shark Tank.
