Ducks to Miss Fowler for Over a Month

When last reported, back in the Newsletter on Monday, the Anaheim Ducks were reporting that defenseman Cam Fowler had suffered a lower-body injury, but the extent was quite known.  Well, this weekend, the word finally came in and the team now expects Fowler to be out of the lineup for 4-to-6 weeks from the time of the injury, roughly December 27th.

Fowler had already been placed on the Injured Reserve this week, helping to make room for Shea Theodore on the team's blueline and now the Ducks will continue on without one of their top offensive defenders.

Either Fowler's lack of offense this season has contributed to the Ducks' poor performance this season or it could possibly be the other way around for the defenseman, as he only has 3 goals and 12 points in 34 games with the club this year, currently ranking 319th in pool scoring.

Tony was definitely expecting better numbers from the 24-year old, as he took him with the 206th pick in the 8th round of the draft.  This kind of injury has been the norm for Tony this year, as his team hasn't been able to really get off the ground.  His side will go into Sunday's action in 21st place, nearly 50 points out of the money.

Unfortunately, Tony's team isn't really in the running for any of the mini-games this year, the only left being the PIM pool for his side, but he's already 173 minutes behind and his team only has 151 minutes in penalties.
