Goalie Announcements (Jan 2)

We have early starts on the first busy day of 2016 and it all begins with a key game in the survivor pool.  John P. gets his only shot of the day with the 11am game.  The Buffalo Sabres will give Chad Johnson the start and it'll be a tough one, as the Detroit Red Wings are in town and it will be Petr Mrazek (Tony) in their net today.

This isn't John's last chance this week, but it's really starting to get hairy for his side.

Big news in the Pittsburgh net, as Marc-Andre Fleury (John R.) is making a return from a concussion today, starting against the New York Islanders and Thomas Greiss (Eric) at the other end.  This is pretty good news for the pool, as we get a team back with some goalie minutes again.

As expected, it will be Andrei Vasilevskiy (Mike) in net for the Lightning, as he was recalled on Friday night, as his assignment will be the Minnesota Wild.  In the other net, it should be Devan Dubnyk (Derek W.), although it hasn't been 100% confirmed as of yet.  The day off yesterday, should be the true indicator.

Have the tides changed in Carolina?  They are going with Eddie Lack (Wes) again tonight, as they welcome the Nashville Predators to town and he'll get a tough test against Pekka Rinne (Ryan).  Lack is now in a spot to usurp the number one spot, can he finally take it?

Although the Blue Jackets have activated Sergei Bobrovsky (Troy) from the Injured Reserve, the team has now acknowledged that they may have done so too early, as they have recalled Anton Forsberg (non-pool) to play behind Curtis McElhinney (non-pool) tonight against the Capitals, who should be going with Braden Holtby (Jeremy) tonight.  Bobrovsky will be day-to-day with a groin injury going forward.

Otherwise, it's more or less business as usual.  No real surprises through the rest of the schedule.
