Goalie Announcements (Jan 20)

Wednesday only brings us three games in the NHL and there isn't much on the survivor pool front. I can tell you, that Jeremy has indeed clinched his spot for the All-Star week with Braden Holtby winning last night, but Allan still has some question marks still to answer this week.

It will be Brian Elliott (Grant) taking on Petr Mrazek (Tony) in Detroit, tonight's only early game, a 6pm MT start.  Grant's team has been working to get out of the basement and these Elliott starts have certainly helped, while Tony's team climbs towards the top 20, now only 4 points back of 20th place.

In late game number one, it will be the Buffalo Sabres and the Colorado Avalanche.  On one side, it will be Robin Lehner (Dropped), who is bidding to make a return to the hockey pool in the Week Eighteen Waiver Draft and then on the other side, it will be Semyon Varlamov (Kristy & Don) for the Avalanche.  Kristy & Don have made some waves in the second segment of the year and are only 23 points out of the money and could use a big game from their keeper.

Finally, in the other late game, we have the Wild visiting the Ducks in Anaheim and the expected goalie match-up should be Devan Dubnyk (Derek W.) against John Gibson (Clayton), featuring two pool teams only 6 points from each other in the standings, right in the middle of the pack.  Derek sits in 12th, while Clayton sits in 16th and this could be a good swing game for them in the standings.

That's it... only three games.
