Afternoon Player Notes in the Draft (Feb 1)

Now that we're on the other side of the All-Star break, it's time for all those injured players to start coming off the list, those who were expected back after said break. Connor McDavid has been given the green light for the Oilers and he's ready to set off after missing nearly 40 games with his broken collarbone.

Ryan's pool team was in 9th place, 9 points out of the money, when McDavid was hurt and will open up Week Eighteen in 11th place, 30 points out of the money.  Will the phenom help Ryan into the money spots in the last segment of the season?  He has 32 games to help out that cause.

The Boston Bruins announced today that they have placed goaltender Jonas Gustavsson on the Injured Reserve with an undisclosed injury, likely retroactive to sometime before the break, but that was also rather unclear.  What we do know is that the Bruins are awaiting more test results for the back-up keeper and they have recalled Malcolm Subban to fill in, while he is on the shelf.  We shall wait and see what the final word is.

It hasn't been a great year for Stacey C. and goalies and it has cost him dearly this year.  Gustavsson was one of his Week Nine pick-ups and he has already dropped the other in the Week Eighteen Waiver Draft.  He'll be waiting to see if this injury is significant enough to swap out both goalies... again!

More bad news for Mike Cammalleri, who has been dealing with some injury problems already this year, as he'll miss at least one more game, as he was placed on the Injured Reserve, retroactive to the 26th, with an upper-body injury.  Putting him on the IR gives the Devils an extra roster spot for their next game on Tuesday night, allowing for a little bit more flexibility.

Neil will open the week in 5th place, 7 points back of 3rd place and the money and he'll now be missing one of his key components to his successful season.  At the moment, the injury doesn't sound too serious, but there likely won't be too much confirmation until he starts missing a bundle of time.
