Seguin Sidelined Until Playoffs

Big news out of the Dallas Stars on Friday morning, as they will now coast towards the playoffs without one of their biggest stars.  The team announced that centre Tyler Seguin has suffered a 15% tear of his Achilles tendon and they are going to shut him down for the last three weeks of the season and he should be ready to go for the playoffs.

The Stars are on the verge of clinching their spot in the playoffs, as they lead the Central Division standings, heading into this weekend, so their official participation is only a formality at this point.

Seguin has been having a whale of a season, to this point, as he finishes the regular season with 33 goals and 73 points in 72 games, scoring at over a point-per-game pace.  On Friday, he ranked 7th overall in pool scoring, 3rd among skaters, and there's a good chance that he'll still finish in the top 27, which would keep him as a 1st round pick if we were to redraft at the end of the year.

For Cindy, she took Seguin with the 9th overall pick and was getting great value for that pick... until now.  Unfortunately, her team around Seguin wasn't doing too much to help out his hard work, as it starts this weekend in 19th and is sure to struggle without their best player.  Her team's 3rd segment, before the injury, wasn't very good already, ranking 23rd, with only 108 points since the start of Week Nineteen.

This will likely give her team a pretty good chance at taking Seguin again next season.
