Goalie Announcements (Mar 4)

Well, since I'm in the mood for a bit of writing today, we'll do a quick post on the starting goalies tonight as well. There's only three games, so it isn't really a stretch.

In Washington tonight, our pool leader, Jeremy, will get a big start, as Braden Holtby gets to go against Antti Raanta (Dropped), with Henrik Lundqvist (Derek & Dan) likely on the shelf with neck spasms.  The Rangers called up Magnus Hellberg (non-pool) to back-up tonight.  It could be a bit easier for Holtby to get those 2 points tonight.

The Oilers are visiting the Blue Jackets tonight and with Cam Talbot (Brian) earning the shutout in Philadelphia last night, this might be a good opportunity for the team to show off Laurent Brossoit (non-pool), as he goes up against another non-pool starter in Joonas Korpisalo.  This game would essentially mean nothing from the crease, which is kind of disappointing, but you could be doing some advanced scouting for next season, if you were really on the ball.

Finally, in the late game, the New Jersey Devils are sending their number one guy, Cory Schneider (Troy), to fend against the high-scoring Dallas Stars, who are opting for Kari Lehtonen (Dale C.) tonight.  The Devils are 5 points out of a playoff spot and were sellers at the deadline, while the Stars are comfortable in the Central Division playoff race and they still haven't found a number one goalie to run with, so this is Lehtonen's chance.

So, only one real match-up that has any bearing on the money tonight... let's hope it isn't too easy for Holtby and the Capitals tonight, eh!
