Morning Player Notes in the Draft (Mar 15)

It is rather believable that when a player blocks a Shea Weber slap shot, anywhere on his body, there is a fine chance that said player will not play in the next game. Case in point, Alexandre Burrows of the Canucks, who did just that and missed Monday night's game against the Jets.  There was no detail on the injury, but he is listed as day-to-day, so it couldn't be too bad, right?

Stacey C.'s team likely doesn't have too much to worry about, with four weeks to go.  That 25-point buffer between his team and 27th place is quite sizable and for the most part, his team is healthy again, minus this little hiccup.

The Jets didn't need Dustin Byfuglien to make short work of those Canucks last night, as they came out on top, 5-2.  That doesn't take away that the hulking defender missed the game with an undisclosed injury. The Jets are really holding this one close to the vest, which is strange, given that they have little to no hope for the playoffs.  Nevertheless, his name gets added to the growing list of wounded players in Winnipeg.

If the Jets didn't need him, then Eric didn't really need him much either.  Eric's team walked out of Monday night with 11 points, an absurd amount of scoring on opening night with six games being played.  Still... his team now sits in 9th and 26 points out of the money still.  That will be a tough hill to climb.
