Noon Player Notes in the Draft (Mar 10)

The Minnesota Wild are going to welcome the Edmonton Oilers into the Xcel Energy Center tonight, but they won't be greeting the youngsters with a full compliment tonight, as it is expected that their number one goalie, Devan Dubnyk, is under the weather and won't be able to dress tonight.  The team announced this morning that they had called up goalie Stephen Michalek to back-up Darcy Kuemper tonight, so that will be the goaltending battery tonight.

It has been an up-and-down year for Derek W.'s team, really riding wave after wave in the standings.  As of Thursday morning, his team moved back up to 12th after dropping down to 15th, as late as the end of Week Twenty-One.  In this final segment of the year, his team is 10th in points, with 112 since the start of Week Nineteen.

It looks as though Craig Anderson is ready to return to the Senators net and he should get the call, as the Senators invade Florida to take on the Panthers on Thursday night.  Anderson has been out for close to a week with a lower-body injury and Andrew Hammond was in net in his absence.  The Senators are still trying to make a playoff push in the East, so they will need their number one guy to be in net and at his best to do so.

This will also be a big return for John P., who has lost his seat as the 3rd place team in the standings.  His team has already fallen 7 points back of both Brian and Neil, who are elbowing each other for the spot at the moment.  A big win tonight and John's team can be nudging back in the right direction.
