Isles Lose Lee Indefinitely

The New York Islanders suffered a big blow to their playoff hopes and we haven't even got them started just yet.  On Thursday night, against their rivals, the Rangers, Anders Lee left the game with a lower-body injury, which has now been revealed as a broken left leg, which will likely keep him out of the lineup for the entirety of the playoffs.

The 25-year old may not have had the numbers that were expected of him this year, only scoring 15 goals and 36 points in 80 games this year, but his value as a good lunch pail forward, one that works hard most nights, will certainly be missed, especially when the games mean a whole lot more.  Lee had 3 game-winners this season, which would have made him a go-to guy in the playoffs, for sure.

This injury also comes as a big blow to Kristy & Don's hopes of a 3rd place finish this year, as the Islanders play both Saturday and Sunday and they would need all hands on deck to get the job done.  Through the scoring I had done last night (please see morning notes from earlier to see why they're not all done), the duo had lost a little bit more ground, down 10 points, to Brian's team, which has kept on rolling this week.

In the playoff pool, Lee is situated in Box 17, so he automatically becomes a land mine of a selection.  If you think the Islanders are going to do something in these playoffs, you may want to avoid Lee as a pick or else your guy is not going to produce much.
