Morning Player Notes in the Playoffs (May 16)

The St. Louis Blues opened up the Western Conference Finals with a big win, at home against the San Jose Sharks on Sunday night, beating them 2-1 in regulation.

By the sound of things, it was a pretty solid performance from the home side, especially Brian Elliott, who stopped 31 of 32 shots for the win, while Jori Lehtera capitalized on a San Jose neutral zone turnover to score the eventual winning goal in the 2nd period.  Elliott was very instrumental in the last few minutes of the game, when the Sharks were pressing for that tying goal, but the shorter goalie stood tall and kept his side ahead through the waning moments of the game.

Lehtera, taken five times in the pool, was your only notable player in the pool, taken by both Stuart and Brenda in the top four and that's a pretty quick recap of the hockey game.
