Morning Player Notes in the Playoffs (May 22)

There was a lot of chatter pregame, before the St. Louis Blues and San Jose Sharks laced them up for Game 4, as the Blues opted to start their young netminder, instead of the goalie that got them this far. Was it a good idea? How is this going to affect the psyche of the guys in the crease, if they lose?  Well, the plus side is... the Blues didn't lose and we don't have to ask that question anymore.  Another plus to this win... they were able to put six goals past the Sharks goaltending, taking the game with a 6-3 score.

Unfortunately, those six goals didn't play a great deal in the pool, as non-pool players Troy Brouwer and Kyle Brodziak each had a pair, including the winner.  Thankfully, the pool had Paul Stastny, taken once, and Jake Allen, also taken once, each picking up a couple of points each.  Nevertheless, this St. Louis win means we'll have at least six games in this series, which could give us a few more points.

This series heads back to St. Louis for Monday night and now the story line gets a little more interesting.
