Fringe Signings (Jun 5)

The Los Angeles Kings signed one of their potential restricted free agents on Saturday, giving defenseman Brayden McNabb a 2-year contract extension, believed to be worth $3.4 million in total, a $1.7 million cap hit per year.  McNabb didn't quite hit the top 108 defensemen in the 2016 season, but he wasn't too far off and the 25-year old may still yet make himself worthy of a hockey pool selection in his career.  Last season, he finished 125th among all blueliners, thanks to 2 goals and 14 points in 81 games.  Not huge totals, of course, but if he can keep a top six job, he will have the potential for a few more points.

Arguably, the Kings' blueline may have been what cost them the chance to move far into the playoffs, due to the lack of depth and now they have the better part of that blueline already signed on for next season.  Are there more moves to come from Los Angeles?
