Goalie Announcements (Sep 19)

Day 3 of the World Cup is set to go on Monday and today's doubleheader will start with Team Europe taking on the Czech Republic at 1pm MT and then the 6pm MT game will see Russia take on the kids from North America, both having played only the day before.

Although there has been no confirmation seen, it should be safe to assume that Jaroslav Halak will be back in the net for Team Europe in this afternoon's game, as he was sharp in the win against the USA and they have had a day off in between.  For the Czechs, on the other hand, after the 6-0 drubbing loss to Canada, one would expect to see Petr Mrazek in net for the home side, possibly trying to find a spark for a win.

We know that Halak wasn't taken, but Mrazek was... Clayton will get his first start from the Czech keeper, still looking for his team's first win in the pool.  Clayton opens the day, 7 points out of 1st place.

The Russians were obviously pleased with the performance of Sergei Bobrovsky in their loss to the Swedes, so he gets the second start on back-to-back days, good news for Dale in this one.  North America will also go riding the hot hand, as Matt Murray has been confirmed as the starter for the kids.

A Bobrobsky/Murray match-up means it will be Dale against Benson in the late game and Benson can really use the win, starting the day off behind by 6 points in the standings.

Unfortunately, due to some syncing issues, the website won't be updated until before the late game tonight.
