Goalie Announcements (Nov 8)

Troy was the big winner on Monday night, not only qualifying for Week Six, but picking up wins from both of his goalies last night, Jaroslav Halak and Tuukka Rask popped off W's.  Troy's team may not be doing so well in the overall standings, but his goalie combo has been keeping him afloat in the survivor pool, which is good news.

Well, all my files didn't sync to the cloud last night, so the update may not be complete until I get home tonight.  We'll be trying our best to do what we can.

The first confirmed starter looking to qualify for Week Six on Tuesday was Craig Anderson of the Senators, who will be giving Wilton a shot in Music City, where he'll take on the Nashville Predators.  It looks very much like we'll have a survivor pool showcase, as Pekka Rinne is expected to get the call for Nashville, offering Stacey M. a shot at moving on tonight.  Someone here is on to Week Six... who will it be?

Stacey M. will get two cracks at Week Six, as the New York Rangers have identified the Vancouver Canucks as a good team to rest their number one for and who's to argue with them? Antti Raanta will get the start for the Rangers tonight, while Clayton will have his goalie going on back-to-back nights, Jacob Markstrom gets the call for the visitors.

Stuart will have his only potential goalie going tonight in the swamp, as Cory Schneider gets the call for the New Jersey Devils tonight.  His test will be pretty tough, as he'll oppose Cam Ward in the visitor's net, giving Brian the first of two starts on the night, as his team continues its ascent up the standings.  Brian's team is just outside of the money ranks and could use a big boost.

A pretty good match-up is set to go in Washington on election day, as the San Jose Sharks are in DC to take on the Capitals. Jeremy will get a start for survival out of Braden Holtby, but we are expecting to see Martin Jones at the other end, one of Wes' few bright spots this season.  Wes is desperate for a win tonight, trying to stay out of the pool basement for another day.

This whole Eastern Conference road trip for the Oilers seemed to be lined with a certain storyline, but we all know that it is the goaltending that is most important. Marcie gets a survival start from Cam Talbot tonight, but her goalie will have to go up against her tablemate's, as Scott will have Matt Murray going at the other end. I'm sure you know which team each of them plays for, right? Right?

In the 'peg tonight, Dale C. will get a survival start from his Dallas Stars keeper, Kari Lehtonen, as it is his turn to take a twirl in the crease. He is expected to take on Tony's keeper, Connor Hellebuyck, who seems to be getting a couple more starts here and there and could be taking on that number one role, slowly.

It will be Jimmy Howard going for the Red Wings, eager to help the pool leader, Benson, try and pad his lead tonight in the standings, while Brenda & Seward will have Steve Mason in net for the Flyers, trying to find their way back into the middle pack, setting themselves up for future successes.

Benson gets yet another start tonight, with Carey Price getting the call for the Canadiens, while the Bruins, playing on back-to-back nights are probably going to go with Zane McIntyre, the non-pool youngster.

The second start for Brian tonight will come in Toronto, where he'll get Frederik Andersen in the net against non-pool goalie, Peter Budaj, who is continuing to play well in the Kings' net.  Getting those goalie starts is looking more and more important as the weeks roll on, that's for sure.

It's Wes versus Derek B. in the last game of the night, with Louis Domingue expected to take on Calvin Pickard, putting two pretty good young goalies up against each other.  The Coyotes are running a pretty hot hand at the moment and the Avalanche are another good start away from having a hot hand, one would think.
