Hurricanes Lose Faulk a Second Time This Season

The Carolina Hurricanes will likely put defenseman Justin Faulk back on the Injured Reserve this week, it will be the second time this season he's been on, this time due to a lower-body injury. The first time he was on, it was due to an upper-body injury and he had missed three games, but the injuries are not related, so we have nothing to really go on here.

Faulk was reportedly hurt in the last game before the holidays and wasn't able to practice on Tuesday.  As a result, the offensive defender will miss tonight's game against the Penguins and he is currently listed as out week-to-week.

In 30 games this season, the 24-year old has been coming around well, scoring 7 goals and 16 points.  The Hurricanes, however, haven't been able to make much good out of it, still on the outside of the playoff picture looking in.

And then in the hockey pool, Faulk belongs to Eric, whose team currently sits in 13th place, 22 points out of the money and still in the hunt.  He was having a peek at the PIM pool for a while, but his team is now 7th in that race, now 62 minutes back and Faulk has contributed there, with 12 minutes so far this season.
