Morning Player Notes in the Draft (Dec 7)

The New Jersey Devils were without rookie forward Pavel Zacha, as he was sidelined with a facial laceration, which he suffered over the weekend.  It appears to be a minor injury, which shouldn't cost him too much time, but the Devils also saw the return of both Beau Bennett and Sergey Kalinin, so there might not be any rush to get him back.

Wilton missed out on a skater game with the injury and his team is right in the thick of the middle of the pack.  His team isn't too far out of the money conversation, still 20 points out of 3rd place.  This injury shouldn't keep him out of the chat, by any means.

Islanders defenseman Johnny Boychuk was feeling a little under the weather for the game against the Rangers and didn't dress.  Boychuk is listed as day-to-day and the Islanders don't play again until Thursday night, when they host the Blues.  You would have to think that his availability is probable.

This is a skater game lost for John S., but it wasn't like he was missing him, as his team moved into 3rd place in the standings after Tuesday night.  His 11 points after two nights was enough to boost him past Marcin, but the race is far from over there.
