Noon Player Notes in the Draft (Dec 9)

Arizona forward Max Domi made an unwise move to chase down Flames forward Garnet Hathaway after taking a hard check and challenged him to a fight.  After said fight, he didn't return to the game, thanks to an upper-body injury and now we're awaiting further information on the injury.

Stacey M. can't be too disappointed with his overall performance this week, 16 points in 26 games, but if this injury is serious, she'll certainly miss his presence.  Her team's week has been okay, already at 15 points and not far out of the big group in the middle, sitting in 19th spot.

Calgary Flames forward Kris Versteeg was reportedly dealing with some bumps and bruises and that apparently required a night off.  The veteran forward has been a pretty good spark plug for the team, picking up 11 points in 19 games for the team, so far this year.  It doesn't sound like anything major, but the veteran forward is going to get some extra leeway, when it comes to staying healthy for the full season.  I could see a few more scratches like this through the year, especially given his injury history.

John S. picked up the veteran forward at the Waiver Draft and has seen 1 point from the only game he has played in his active lineup, so the scoring rate is definitely there.  John's team has been one of the hottest this week, moving into 3rd place and doing well to track down 2nd place at the same time.

Already without Jonathan Toews, it sounds like the Blackhawks will be without defenseman Brent Seabrook on Friday night against the Rnagers on Broadway.  Seabrook is likely going to be out, due to an upper-body injury and he'll be on the injured list as day-to-day, if he indeed misses the game.  The Blackhawks will certainly miss his production, as his 16 points in 28 games is 15th among all defensemen in the league this season.

A tough break for Jeremy, if it indeed comes to fruition, as this is a pretty good chunk of production coming out of his lineup as well.  This could halt some of his positive movement that he's had this week, moving up to 15th, thus far.

There were a couple of pool related healthy scratches in the Dallas Stars lineup on Thursday night, as they sat both Cody Eakin and Jordie Benn for the game against the Nashville Predators and it may have sparked the team to get their act together, as they were able to win the game, 5-2.  Eakin was a bit of a surprise scratch, while Benn has been scratched on a few occasions.

Wes' team missed on an Eakin game, something they didn't need in 25th place, while Jeremy, in 15th, could have used an assist or two from the elder Benn.  Really, we can all use the points, right?

Jaroslav Halak didn't start, so he got scratched... Thomas Greiss came from the press box to get a start.  Nothing new here.

This is a recording.

Troy doesn't miss a start, this would be a scheduled move, something that Dale B. take advantage of with his goalie.

An upper-body injury slowed down the progress of rookie forward Jimmy Vesey, as he was sidelined for the game against the Jets on Thursday night.  Vesey has been pretty good, scoring 9 goals and 16 points in his first 27 games, ranking 119th in pool scoring, as of Friday morning.  Currently, Vesey is listed as day-to-day, questionable for the weekend at the moment.

Vesey has been a pretty good bargain pick for Eric in this year's draft, taking him 286th overall in the 12th round and if this is a short-term injury, it won't be a big problem at all.  Eric's team is making some moves this week, up to 18th and running hot at the moment, the top half isn't out of the question.

It was a surprising healthy scratch to most looking in, as the Flyers sent defenseman Michael Del Zotto up to the press box, especially having a recent warm streak offensively.  He didn't pick up any points in the game previous, but he has been productive of late, which was good for his spirits, since he got a late start to the season, due to injury.  It could have been a defensive lapse that sent him upstairs, but it's really hard to say.

His scratching doesn't help Wes' cause much today, but he does have some long-term upside to his game and could still help to save his season.  When that starts begins with his return to the ice.  The Flyers have a Saturday afternoon game against Dallas, so we'll see if he draws back in then.
