Pens' Murray Out Week-to-Week

The Pittsburgh Penguins announced on Thursday afternoon that goaltender Matt Murray will be on the shelf on a week-to-week basis with the lower-body injury he suffered on Wednesday night against the Hurricanes.

Murray didn't come out to start the 3rd period of the game last night and Marc-Andre Fleury came in for a relief effort, which eventually earned him the win.  The week-to-week status may suggest a groin issue, as they are somewhat hard to put concrete time frames on, but it would certainly mean that Murray will hit the Injured Reserve at some point, so they can open up a spot for a call-up goalie.

The 22-year old keeper already missed six games to a broken hand to start the season and now we'll count the games he misses moving forward.  In the time he has been healthy, he has been dynamite, moving up to 28th overall in pool scoring, picking up 13 wins in 19 games played, including 2 shutouts and 2 assists for 32 points.

This injury, of course, will be a massive blow to Scott's team, which has now lost its best player, to date.  Sure, Scott has a couple of healthy 30-point players right now, but his team has also fallen out of the money and doesn't have the active number one in Chicago either.

At the time of the injury, Scott's team is 4th, 4 points from 3rd, 12 points from 1st... how will his team fare?
