Morning Player Notes in the Draft (Jan 3)

The flu bug or something like it, continues to move around the NHL, as Travis Zajac was the latest victim of what has been ailing these players.  The New Jersey Devils forward missed out on the game against the Boston Bruins, a 3-0 win, with the illness and he is considered to be day-to-day.  His might not be as bad as some of the other players this season, who have missed two or three games with an illness, as he was a game-time decision last night.

Zajac has been decent for Jeremy this season, up to 8 goals and 24 points in 37 games already, ranking 105th overall, after Monday's night's action.  That's pretty good, considering he was taken 301st overall this year, turning out to be quite the bargain pick.

Vancouver forward Alex Burrows was held out of Monday night's game against the Avalanche, due to a scratch on his eye. Burrows is believed to have suffered the injury in their last game, which was Saturday night in Edmonton. He is currently considered to be day-to-day at the moment, but there was no immediate timeline for his return.

For Kristy & Don, he was another one of those double-threat players, who could possibly help them stay respectable in the overall standings and get them a few PIM to help keep the lead in the mini-game.  5 points and 6 PIM in 13 games since going active isn't too bad, but the duo might not have him for a few days yet.
