Goalie Announcements (Mar 5)

Usually, Sundays are not quite this busy, but the NHL is packing games in like there is no tomorrow... and there are still five more weeks to go!

Brian had a pretty big Saturday and retook the lead, while Marcie lost a lot of the ground she gained over the last few weeks, making the race for 3rd place a thing to watch again.  Jeremy has the Mover & Shaker lead by 4 points, while Troy sits at the bottom, only 1 point worse than Wilton on the week, can anything change there?

Eddie Lack (N/A) versus Mike Smith (Marcie)
A couple of days after the Hurricanes coaching staff ripped Eddie Lack for his poor efforts of late, he will still get the nod, a try for redemption, as they go into the desert to take on the lowly Coyotes.  The dogs will counter tonight with a money goalie in Mike Smith, giving Marcie's team a shot to defend their shrinking buffer to 4th place.  This has the makings of an okay game.

Thomas Greiss (Dale B.) versus Brian Elliott (Derek B.)
From the late one to the early one, the Islanders are in Calgary and they are going to keep running with their number one, as they try desperately to stay in the Eastern Conference playoff race.  The Flames have been hot though and they'll also run with their hot hand, so this is far from a cakewalk for either team today.

Richard Bachman (N/A) versus Jonathan Bernier (Eric)
In the Rogers Hometown Hockey game tonight, Eric should get another injury-benefit start out of Bernier and the Ducks, as they welcome the Canucks, who played last night in Los Angeles and have opted to go with their number three on back-to-back nights.  This adds up well for Eric, who starts the night only 6 points back of 3rd place.

Anders Nilsson (Ryan) versus Matt Murray (Scott)
Although unconfirmed on both sides early on this morning, it would seem likely that this would be the match-up.  The Sabres running on back-to-back days, while the Penguins look to keep pace with the rest of the Metropolitan Division.  Ryan is chasing down the money, 9 points back of 3rd place, while Scott is chasing Ryan, 15 points back, to get back to chasing down the money.  This start will help and hinder each of these teams.

Martin Jones (Wes) versus Devan Dubnyk (John S.)
Purely for the sake of using the Minnesota 3rd jersey logo, we'll pop this match-up on the post today, as it is expected that the Pacific Division leading Sharks will go with their number one against the former Central Division leaders, the Wild, who will also likely go with their number one.  This has some Western Conference Finals potential to it, no doubt, but it is a shame this has no effect on the pool.
