Noon Player Notes in the Draft (Mar 20)

One note missed out in the Newsletter... the Minnesota Wild appeared to have made forward Jason Pominville into a healthy scratch yesterday against the Winnipeg Jets, as no injury or illness has been reported from their camp in the last day or so.  The 34-year old has been held pointless in his last four games, prior to the Jets game, with dwindling ice-time and just no production.  The Wild have been struggling to find some consistency of late and it looks like the seasoned veteran has been pegged as one of those players that needs to step it up again to get the team back on track.

This isn't going to help John S.'s team much, as this cost him the goalie survivor pool, but this bad stretch has also cost Dale B. a share of the pool lead in points, as Pominville is his player and his team is now 6 points back of 1st place.

It sounds like the Dallas Stars will have Jamie Benn back in their lineup after missing a game with an eye injury, while Jason Spezza appears to be doubtful for their game tonight, at home to the Sharks, with a back problem.  Spezza reportedly left practice on Sunday with back spasms and I would imagine that the team isn't going to be in a rush to get him back, since they are nowhere near the playoff race in the West and there's no need to have him back.

Benn's return is good for Eric's money chase, starting 4 points back, while Spezza's possible omission from the lineup could hurt Grant's chance at staying in the top 20.  Grant opens the week in 19th, only 5 points better than 21st.
