Pavelec Out After Knee Surgery

The goaltending situation was starting to look a little better in Winnipeg, when the Jets recalled Ondrej Pavelec and he started out on a run.  That run lasted eight games and that was it before injury struck.  On Monday, the Jets announced that the veteran goalie would go arthroscopic knee surgery and he is expected to miss the next three weeks, on top of the time he had missed, which started a month ago.

Pavelec, in those eight games, went 4-4-0, picking up a 3.55 GAA and .888 save percentage, which aren't great numbers, but those wins came at a time, when the Jets were having a hard time finding them.

Jeremy picked up Pavelec at the tail end of the second Waiver Draft, thinking he was going to get a goalie that was going to get some minutes with a Central Division contender for wild card spot.  All he got was the last start, 26 minutes before being pulled and not to be seen again.

Sure, Jeremy is doing fine without a second goalie, but he could be doing so much better if he was getting those extra minutes.
