Roussel Appears to be Done

As feared earlier this morning, Dallas Stars forward Antoine Roussel will be out for the remainder of the regular season, which has a little over five weeks left to play. Roussel ended up blocking a shot with his hand in the game against the Islanders on Thursday night and the doctors have given him a timetable of a 6-to-8 week recovery time for the injury.

The team did not confirm what the extent of the injury was, but it almost seems safe to assume that broken bones are certainly at play here, probably within the hand and not exactly fingers.

The 27-year old currently leads the league in penalty minutes, hence the real reason why Troy has him on his hockey pool side, but his offense is still fairly notable, as he does have 12 goals and 27 points in 60 games this season, which is nothing to shake a stick at.  The loss of offense will more than certainly keep Troy's team in the running for the Basement Dweller each week, while it does seem less likely that his goon squad will catch Marcie's team before the end of the year in the PIM pool, without their statistical leader.
