Afternoon Preseason Injury Notes (Sep 24)

The St. Louis Blues might be holding their breath because of the health of one of their talented snipers, Robby Fabbri. On Saturday night, Fabbri re-injured his knee against the Dallas Stars and the team is going to reevaluate his health situation in 10 days, shutting him down for the rest of training camp.

Fabbri only played in 51 games last season, picking up 29 points and there was a firm belief that he was going to have a bounce back season, especially in the health department.  So far, the 2018 campaign is not off to a good start and you may want to look elsewhere for more points.

In more significant injury news, the Arizona Coyotes lost the services of defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson on Saturday night, when they took on the Sharks. Ekman-Larsson suffered a lower-body injury and the team is going to reevaluate him before they announce anything major, but this is an injury that we all need to keep an eye on, as he was set to feature as a high defenseman pick.

With the improvements that the Coyotes have made in this off-season, the projections for the Swede were getting up there.  I currently have him in the 50-point range to start the drafting season, but if this injury is indeed significant, that's a number that could tail off quickly.
