Morning Preseason Injury Notes (Sep 20)

Boston Bruins defenseman Torey Krug left last night's game against the Red Wings after taking a puck to the face in the 2nd period and he didn't return to action on the night.  There was no immediate update in the evening, but it will be one thing to look for in the next day or two, as the Bruins ramp up their preseason action, moving towards the regular season.

I have Krug projected for another 50-point season (or thereabouts), so his facial situation is an important one, leading up to the draft.  Can't imagine that it is too serious, unless a concussion was suffered, which isn't necessarily new in this case, but fairly rare.

The Florida Panthers also lost a key piece of their puzzle on Tuesday night, as Vincent Trocheck left the second half of the Nashvile double-header with an upper-body injury, not to return.  Couldn't find any immediate information about the the injury, so we'll wait and see what the team says, before we start making any speculations.  He'll be day-to-day with the upper-body injury, until otherwise posted.

The expectation for Trocheck this season is that he's going to hit the 60-point mark for the Panthers, which would be a huge lift for them, as they will need to dig deep for some offense this season.  Here's hoping that this injury doesn't derail that process.
