Perreault to IR, Connor Recalled

It appears that the lower-body injury to Jets forward Mathieu Perreault is fairly significant, as the team placed the injured forward on the Injured Reserve on Monday morning, making way for rookie forward Kyle Connor to make his way back up to the club after being one of the last few cuts at the end of training camp.

Perreault was hurt on Saturday night against the Hurricanes and the team and their doctors were able to look over their injured player and the news came down today that he would be out at least a week.

In five games played already this season, he has a goal and a pair of assists, carrying an even rating as well.  Grant was certainly making good use of those points so far this season, as he now opens the week in 16th place, 12 points out of 3rd.

Eric gets one of his two demoted players back with this news, as Connor was a late camp demotion, but certainly one of the first to be called up for the Jets.  The rookie has 5 points in four games with the Manitoba Moose in the AHL, so his call-up was likely coming sooner, rather than later.

Opening this week, Eric starts in 24th spot, well clear of last place, but 17 points back of 3rd place.
