Afternoon Player Notes in the Draft (Nov 13)

Just outside of pushing the publish button on this week's Newsletter, I found that the Winnipeg Jets have activated forward Mathieu Perreault from the Injured Reserve, as he has missed the last month with a lower-body injury.  The Jets don't play until Tuesday night, at home to Arizona, but they are going to get the cap relief of sending Brendan Lemieux back down to the minors today and that's a certain plus.  Perreault had 3 points in five games, at the time of his injury, so he'll be a welcome return, assuming he can find that scoring pace still.

When the reigning Mover & Shaker gets a body back in his lineup, that is a scary thought to process, as Grant's team has gotten better today, after having a pretty good week.  Let's see if his team can actually follow through with back-to-back nods.

As expected, the Calgary Flames are getting defenseman Travis Hamonic back in their lineup tonight, as confirmed by the coaching staff this morning, as he returns from a lower-body injury of his own. Hamonic, known more for his steady defensive play, hasn't exactly been very productive in the Flames lineup, 1 goal and 1 assist in 13 games, but he's there to provide a physical presence in his own end, which he has done in spades this year.

Oh, did I say Grant's team was getting better with one player back in his lineup?  Well, how about another one?  Yes, he'll get two players back in the early part of this week, now making his team completely healthy.  Sure, Hamonic isn't much of a scorer, but the more bodies, the merrier.
