Goalie Announcements (Dec 4)

And then there were four teams!

The second segment of the season opens in Week Ten and only Jeremy, Wilton, Mike and Grant remain alive in the goalie survivor pool and as we've seen already this season, there has been some fairly shocking weeks, losing some of the favourites, so nothing should come as a surprise in the remainder of the week.

According to the schedule ahead, Jeremy and Grant are the bubble teams with only three games this week, so there will be some extra pressure on theirs to succeed, which will make it quite interesting.

Martin Jones (Chris) versus Philipp Grubauer (Grant)
Grant gets to use up one of those games and it will be by the Washington backup tonight, Philipp Grubauer, when they play host to the San Jose Sharks, who recognize the firepower of their opponent tonight, dressing their number one, Martin Jones.  This would count as quite the win for Grant, if his number two could qualify him on Monday, especially since the road doesn't get any easier for the Capitals, with the Blackhawks on Wednesday and the Rangers on Friday and nothing on Saturday or Sunday.

On top of the goalie survivor action, this is a good game for the standings as well, as Chris holds a 6-point advantage over Grant, yet only one spot in the standings, as they are 8th and 9th, heading into tonight's games.

This is the only game of note for the survivor pool, so we'll pick up on a busier day tomorrow!
