Morning Player Notes in the Draft (Dec 8)

A slight tweak of the back was enough to keep Ben Bishop from dressing on Thursday night for the Dallas Stars, so they called up Mike McKenna to backup Kari Lehtonen against the Blues. It doesn't sound like a concerning injury, but a night off for the team's number one goalie isn't always a bad thing.  I haven't seen much for a word on how long Bishop is going to sit for exactly, if it is just a one game thing or a few days, but he didn't dress and he's day-to-day at the moment.

It could be considered a missed start to some, given that the Stars aren't on back-to-back nights, so Kristy & Don could be thinking that they're missing out tonight, which they are.  They could have used this start, sitting only 2 points out of the money after Thursday night's action.

The Blues also had goalie issues ahead of the game against Dallas, but it wasn't their number one in any injury trouble, rather it was their backup, Carter Hutton, who wasn't able to dress for the game.  He was destined to be on the bench either way, but he's guaranteed not to play, if he isn't able to dress.  Hutton sat out with a lower-body injury and he's also considered to be day-to-day at the moment.  Ville Husso was called up to take his spot on the bench for the game.

This wasn't a missed start for Benson's team, as he was scheduled to get this one.  The Blues are going to play back-to-back, Saturday and Sunday, so it will be interesting to see if Hutton is good enough to go then or else we're expecting Husso to get a nod in one of those early games.
