Noon Player Notes in the Draft (Dec 20)

The Columbus Blue Jackets are not hiding the fact that defenseman Zach Werenski is not going to play tonight against the Maple Leafs, but they are being quite coy about what ails him. The official word is that the young rearguard is dealing with a "body" issue, so that's all we'll go with. He's considered to be day-to-day at the moment, but if we knew just a little bit more... well, we'd still be speculating, at best.

Nevertheless, Wes is going to miss out on a skater game tonight, with Werenski up in the press box tonight.  Wes' team will open play tonight in 23rd, 67 points out of the money.

The Calgary Flames confirmed early on Wednesday, that Jaromir Jagr will be out of the lineup once again with the same lower-body ailment that he has been dealing with for the better part of the season, and he'll be listed as day-to-day for the time being. Jagr has only appeared in 19 games this season, scoring 1 goal and 7 points, but he is a +8 in the plus/minus department, which suggests that he is a benefit, when he is on the ice.

Ryan's team hasn't had the return from Jagr that he would have hoped, searching for that bargain pick in the last round.  Jagr is currently ranked 495th in pool scoring, well down from the 333rd overall pick that he was at the draft.
