Sharks Thornton Out Weeks With Knee Injury

The San Jose Sharks are planning to be without forward Joe Thornton for the next couple of weeks, at the very least, as he is dealing with an MCL injury to his right knee.  The injury considered to be a sprain, suffered in last night's game against the Winnipeg Jets in the 3rd period.

Thornton has been pretty good this season, scoring 13 goals and 36 points in 47 games played with the Sharks, which has him ranked 78th in pool scoring.

The veteran Thornton has seen a little bit of a resurgence in the Sharks lineup this year and he has been one of the big reasons why Brenda & Seward has been climbing the standings in recent weeks, as he was their 8th round draft pick this year, one of their best bargain picks this year.  Thanks to the All-Star break, they won't be missing out on as much action.
